5 Things to Do in St. Louis this Weekend 6/14 – 6/16

Happy Friday, everyone! Here are five things  you’ll want to make sure you do in St. Louis this weekend.

 

A Dad Destination
Life with father is good so why not celebrate his big day in St. Louis, a dynamic dad destination with plenty of “pop” activities and events. So “man up” and follow this link for seven great ways to celebrate Fathers Day in St. Louis.

St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival
Twenty-one big and small Missouri beer makers will come together at the 7th annual St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival in Forest Park on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15.  While you’re at the festival, stop by the food tent and grab some food from many local restaurants and listen to live music by local artists and groups. Tickets start at $35 in advance and increase to $40 on the day. Friday, June 14 from 6 – 10 and Saturday, June 15 from 1-5 and 7-11. Admission is $40

Chesterfield Jazz Festival
The outdoor festival will be full of talent, including music from Grammy nominated pianist David Benoit, saxophone great Paul Taylor, the classical/jazz mix of Bach to the Future vocalist Jeanne Trevor, and an all-star tribute to John. Of course, parking is FREE. Saturday, June 15 from 2-10. Admission is $20 – $50.

St. Louis Shakespeare Festival – Twelfth Night
“If music be the food of love, play on” and go see the Shakespeare Festival St. Louis’ production of “Twelfth Night” in Forest Park. Grab a blanket and a picnic basket and spread out on the grass to watch as experienced local performers act out the Bard’s work under the stars. Don’t forget to snag a hot dog or funnel cake to snack on during show. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8 p.m. in Forest Park

Opera Theatre of St. Louis – Champion
Worlds collide when the Opera Theatre of St. Louis and Jazz St. Louis present a new kind of opera titled Champion. Music by five-time Grammy Award-winning composer, Terence Blanchard and libretto by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Michael Cristofer, this compelling opera is based on a true story about a boxer, and combines the best of contemporary music. Saturday, June 15 at 8 p.m. Admission price varies.
