Loufest Music Festival in Forest Park – September 7 – 8
Dont’ miss LouFest, a St. Louis favorite, only three years old and growing quickly. The Killers headline the music festival alongside Wilco, The National and Alabama Shakes. Hispanic Festival – September 6 – 9
Turn up the heat with Hispanic Festival, Inc. for the Greater St. Louis Hispanic Festival in Kiener Plaza. With a new location, Hispanic Folkloric dancers, more than 75 booths, and the Los Ninos Kids Corner featuring Dora the Explorer and Diego, this event is the largest Hispanic celebration in the St. Louis area. The Cultural Village will offer a wide variety of foods and beverages from Latin and Soutah America, while you explore folk arts and crafts, and witness the crowning of Miss Hispanic Festival. Don’t miss the Low Rider Car Cruise on Sunday, Sept. 9.
Saint Louis Art Fair – September 6 – 9
Artists from across the country converge on Clayton to display their unique work in ceramics, photography and sculpture to the more than 150,000 expected guests at this year’s 20th annual St. Louis Art Fair. The weekend’s events will include live music and dance performances, numerous art activities specifically for children, as well as delicious food from 15 local restaurants.
The Sinquefield Cup – September 8 – 15
Beginning Sunday, September 8, the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of St. Louis hosts The Sinquefield Cup competition. This is the first-ever Super Grandmaster tournament to be held in the STL, and features four of the best players on the planet including the top two in the world: GM Magnus Carlsen and GM Levon Aronian. A special autograph session is slated for Sept. 8, where spectators can receive autographs from and take pictures with their favorite players! This event is free, and fans will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. For additional info click here
Schlafly’s Art Outside Alternative Art Fair – September 6 – 8
Now in its 10th year, Schlafly Art Outside is a three-day-long juried alternative art fair featuring art from over 50 artists based here in the St. Louis area. The art outside art fair is not an ordinary fair, but one that features quality art, music, and plenty of tasty food and drink from Schlafly Beer. Hosted at the brewery’s Bottleworks, in Maplewood.
