Considered the world’s greatest female athlete, Jackie Joyner-Kersee has won more Olympic medals than any other American woman, in Track and Field: three gold, one silver and two bronze. She is the world-record holder in the heptathlon and the American record-holder in the long jump.
So, what does she consider her biggest accomplishment?
“Coming home to metro St. Louis and opening a youth center in my old neighborhood,” she says.
She is recognized world wide as an athlete and advocate for kids. With her commitment to her community, drive to help others and sharing of herself through her foundation, JJK truly is a civic treasure. Information about JJK’s mission is available at www.jjkfoundation.org
