Claim to Fame: The Grammy Award-winning opera singer has been named among the Top 20 Sopranos of the 20th Century. Classical music critics from around the world refer to her voice as being among the finest in the world. She has performed to acclaim with top symphony orchestras at the world’s most renowned opera houses.

Neighborhood: Christine grew up in the small town of Grand Tower, Illinois, a Mississippi River town about 100 miles south of St. Louis. She and her husband Ross met while attending McKendree College in nearby Lebanon, Illinois where they reside today

High School: Shawnee High School, Grand Tower, Illinois

Passion: Christine taught elementary school music in the coal mining town of Marissa, Illinois. Since her operatic success, she created the “Opera-tunities” program for sixth grade students at the school to pass on a love of music and geographical awareness. Christine and music professional pals from the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra are frequent visitors to the classroom.
