It’s always a good time to shop in St. Louis. The St. Louis Mills mall offers 200 retail, outlet and off-price stores as well as entertainment and activities for the whole family. Other major malls, including Plaza Frontenac and the Saint Louis Galleria, have expanded and added many stores and restaurants that are new to St. Louis and Missouri. A Macy’s store is open in downtown St. Louis, and the nearby Loft District is chock full of unique stores and boutiques.

Neighborhood shopping districts – like the booming Loop neighborhood – are adding stores and shopping experiences as well. So bring an empty suitcase on your St. Louis getaway this year.  The one-of-a-kind shopping you’ll find here will keep you busy for days.

St. Louis has had plenty of practice finding exactly the right items for visitors. Since pioneer days, people have come to St. Louis to buy life’s luxuries and necessities. St. Louis outfitted fashionable Victorian ladies, mountain men, riverboat gamblers and wagon trains. Even explorers Lewis & Clark prepared for their historic expedition by buying their supplies in St. Louis. Today’s modern explorers can find sophisticated styles, outlet bargains and hard-to-find items throughout St. Louis. From clothes with that big city look to charming country collectibles, St. Louis has a store that carries what you really want.

In St. Louis’ historic neighborhoods, antique shops line the streets in a cheery welcome. Galleries carry crafts, jewelry and fine art – from the masters to the most avant garde. Stop in to browse, buy or just learn more about collecting from the friendly operators.  Huge regional craft fairs, flea markets and art festivals are held throughout the year in St. Louis.

St. Louis’ most popular visitor attractions also display unusual items in their shops. Art museum jewelry, botanical treasures, science gifts and butterfly toys are just some of the gifts you’ll find in dozens of museum and attraction stores.

Be sure to visit specialty stores, malls and retail districts during your St. Louis shopping adventure. They’ll help you fill that extra suitcase with everything you need to be a fashion pioneer at home.
