Please accept my most humble gratitude for the fabulous assistance, guidance and support shown by the St Louis CVB at the 2012 WEC Convention. From airport signage and meet and greets, to street paintings and Renaissance Hotel revolving door wraps to volunteers directing us on the streets and inside the Convention Center … I was completely blown away! Never in my 20+ (I’m not saying how many plusses) years of meeting planning and convention participation have I ever been witness to such love for a city.
If the opportunity arises, I will gladly bring events to your lovely city. The success of MPI’s Convention is in large part due to your staff and volunteers and I want to thank you again for a making my experience so memorable.”

St. Louis hospitality key to ASAE’s Successful Meeting
Upon returning to Washington, D.C., I’ve received many messages from association executives’ praising the efforts of St. Louis and ASAE. The entire city welcomed us with friendly smiles, signs and buttons, and our members definitely noticed. I remember walking off the plane last week, and I was greeted by a woman holding an “ASAE” sign who asked if my name was John Graham. As we walked through the airport, we had a nice conversation, and she showed me great hospitality. That was the first signal of what turned out to be a great week for ASAE and our members.
There were several reasons why ASAE picked St. Louis including: it was affordable, centrally located, great convention and hotel space, wonderful attractions and food, and the city would put on a great show. You not only met those expectations, but you hit it out of the ball park. From the opening party at the Arch to the closing block party event, our attendees had a memorable time. Not only were members raving about the meeting to me, but they were sending out more than 3,500 tweets about the conference, St. Louis’s hospitality and beautiful attractions.
At this year’s convention, 65 percent of our attendees had not been to St. Louis before, and they left knowing what a great destination St. Louis is for their future meetings. Last year’s annual meeting was in Los Angeles, and so far, it has received $50 million in business. We hope St. Louis will reap similar benefits for years to come! This year’s Annual Meeting was successful because of the partnership between ASAE, the city and its volunteers.
Thank you to Kitty Ratcliffe, the CVC staff, ASAE Host Committee, St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, and Mayor Francis G. Slay for all their hard work in putting together a great event for our members. Thank you St. Louis for all your hard work, sincerity and hospitality to our 5,368 attendees! You definitely made a lasting impression!”

It’s not often that I sit down to write a letter to a facility.… Courteous, flexible, pro-active, accommodating, knowledgeable, professional, service-oriented …these are just a few of the adjectives that come to mind in describing our experience with your staff at America’s Center. I’d like to take it one step further and include the union labor in this accolade. We could not have been more pleased with the quality and professionalism of all the crafts involved in producing events there at your facility.… Be sure to tell them to call me, I’ll give you a terrific reference.”

The degree of cooperation and professionalism from (your staff ) and the litany of your support staff far surpassed any other group I’ve had the pleasure to work with over these past 30+years….YOUR STAFF MAKES HEROES! I wanted to thank you for your efforts in helping to make our experience at the America’s Center a memorable one. The NRA Annual Meeting & Exhibits this year in St. Louis was one of the most successful events we’ve ever had and the cooperative effort of the convention center staff, unions and contractors played a key role. …The union personnel displayed a professionalism and competence level above most cities I have worked in during my 15 years of producing shows and events. From the labor on the floor to the stewards and management at the center, they all realized that the do play an important role in the success of a show. As a show manager, I strongly value those attributes and appreciate their impact on our ability to produce a successful show for our exhibitors and attendees.
