Missouri Botanical Garden Lantern Festival

St. Louis County Greek Festival – May 22 – 25
A Memorial Day tradition for many St. Louis area families. The four day festival features Greek music, dancing, gifts and plenty of authentic Greek food. The festival runs Friday through Monday of Memorial Day weekend at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church at 1755 Des Peres Road in Town & Country. Admission and parking are free.

Shakespeare Festival St. Louis – May 22 – June 14
Continuing its free performances in Forest Park on Memorial Day weekend, this year’s play is Antony and Cleopatra. Performances are 8 p.m. with pre-show activities at 6:30 p.m.  Admission is free

Spring to Dance Festival – May 22 – 24
It’s diversity of movement and style at its best with dance companies from across the Midwest and beyond performing a variety of pieces from contemporary to classical to tap and more at this three day festival of dance at the Touhill Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 per night.

Gypsy Caravan – May 25
A shoppers paradise. More than 300 vendors sell everything from antiques to t-shirts to birdhouses and baseball cards. This year, the Gypsy Caravan has moved to the Family Arena in St. Charles. Money raised from the Gypsy Caravan goes to the St. Louis Symphony and its educational programs.  The event is from 7am – 5pm.  Early bird admission is $17.50 and general admission is $8.50.

St. Louis African Arts Festival – May 23 – 25
The African Arts Festival includes an African marketplace, children’s activities, hands-on activities, performing artists, African and African-American artifacts, jewelry & textiles, guided art tours, cultural demonstrations and more. The festival takes place at the World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park.

Saint Louis Renaissance Faire – May 16 – June 14
Travel back in time as you step into the beautifully wooded, 16th century village called Petit Lyon! Immerse yourself in the costumes and mannerisms of the era. Thrill to the exploits of Jousting Knights on thundering steeds. Roam the village shops for unique crafts and goods as artisans demonstrate period skills. Delight in comedy, music and feats of derring-do. Feast on delicious food and drink while strolling minstrels entertain. Interact with the colorful villagers, nobles, peasants and personalities of ages past.  The festival takes place at Rotary Park, 2577 West Meyer Road in Wentzville, MO from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m..

Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con – May 22-24
Wizard World Comic Con comes to America’s Center in St. Louis for a weekend of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop-fi, comics, video gaming, sci-fi, and much more.  The weeekend long convention will feature a hosts of some of your favorite celebrities including, Robin Lord Taylor (Gotham), Alanna Masterson (The Walking Dead), WWE Superstar Seth Rollins and many more!

Lantern Festival: Magic Reimagined – May 23 – August 23
Lantern Festival: Magic Reimagined brings all-new lighted works of art to the Garden this summer! Celebrating the Garden’s ongoing botanical research in China, 22 all-new sets crafted from silk and steel will once again offer visitors from around the world the opportunity to experience an event rarely staged outside of Asia.
