Built as the Fine Arts Palace of the 1904 Worlds Fair and one of the nation's leading comprehensive art museums. Collections include works of art from virtually every culture and time period. Areas of notable depth include Oceanic art, pre-Columbian art, ancient Chinese bronzes and European and American art of the late 19th century and 20th century, with particular strength in German painting. Free admission to exhibitions on Fridays and programs diesgned for all ages and interests. Tue. - Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Fri., 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.; FREE.

Spent an enjoyable afternoon

Nice place with some surprising pieces. Had good variety. Only had an hour before it closed, so didn't get to see too much.
