There are plenty of hard rockin’, hip hoppin’ and down home blues shows headed to the Lou over the next few months, so listen up!

Laclede’s Landing is a summer music hotspot between the ongoing concert series (two shows remaining, Aug. 26 and Sept. 23) and the Big Muddy Blues Festival taking place over Labor Day Weekend, expected to draw a crowd of around 60,000. This free event is the largest Blues showcase in the region with this year’s lineup featuring artists like Guy Forsyth, Lurrie Bell, and over 30 more blues bands set to take the stage.

Grant’s Farm hosts the Bluegrass Concert Series every Wednesday evening from August 24th through Sept. 28th and will feature bands like Mississippi Sawyers, The Punches Family and the Larry Stevenson Band.

Forest Park will come alive in late August for LouFest, the all-ages Indie Rock show that, in addition to 18 national bands, boasts great food, kid-friendly activities and a greening effort for environmentally friendly fans. This year, look for headliners like The Roots, Cat Power and TV on the Radio.

Blues fans will rejoice this summer at St. Louis Blues Week (Aug. 25-Sept 4) where some of St. Louis’ living legends will be performing. Blues Week will kick off with a cocktail reception and continue on Washington Avenue with an amazing performance lineup featuring real blues royalty like Tom Hall, Silvercloud and the Mike Zito Band. Club hoppers will enjoy the Soulard Blues Cruise and the event wraps up with second annual Blues awards at Blueberry Hill in the Loop.

The Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre has got all the genres covered with the 104.1 Super Jam 5 happening on Aug. 21 with rappers like Lil’ Wayne and other hip hop performers Rick Ross, Keri Hilson and many more. Pointfest takes over on Sept. 10 for a one-day mega concert featuring today’s biggest names in alternative music like The Urge, Cake and Bush. And Country-music lovers should save the date on Sept. 23 for Toby Keith with Eric Church and JT Hodges.
