Moonlight Ramble – Saturday, August 9
The Moonlight Ramble returns for its 51st annual midnight ride this Saturday! The thousands of riders that come out each year will not only enjoy a leisurely night bike ride but also a vendor area, entertainment, a commemorative event t-shirt and an after-ride party with snacks and drinks! All ages are welcome to participate (riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult) and every rider must register online. So grab a bike and some friends and join us under the light of the moon!
Nova Nights: Shooting Stars – Saturday, August 9
This Saturday, plan your date night to be at the Saint Louis Science Center’s Nova Nights: Shooting Stars event! With August being the peak for this year’s Perseid meteor shower, the center’s James S. McDonnell Planetarium is the place to be. You’ll enjoy drinks, a classic sci-fi movie, Logan’s Run & a sky full of shooting stars. Guests are welcome to bring pillows and blankets to make their stargazing as comfortable. Funny Girl – Friday, August 8 – Saturday, August 9
The Stray Dog Theatre presents “Funny Girl,” the popular turn-of-the-century musical where a young Fanny Brice dreams of becoming a Broadway star. Sing along with hits like “Don’t Rain On My Parade” and “You Are Woman” as you follow Fanny through this stormy love story.
Celebrate Shark Week at the Saint Louis Zoo – Saturday, August 9 – Saturday, August 15
Head to the Zoo dressed as a shark and get into Stingrays at Caribbean Cove presented by Mercy Kids for free. On August 9 and 10 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., take a tropical trip to the Caribbean with Lenny Frisch, a steel drum band playing live music outside Caribbean Cove. Kids can also join in shark-themed games and activities.
