Cherokee Street

Immediately south of Soulard, rummage through the city’s antique row on Cherokee Street. Dozens of merchants sell items from the area’s historic past in treasure-filled stores just a few minutes south of downtown. Around the corner from Cherokee Street is the historic Greek Revival Chatillon-DeMenil Mansion and the Lemp Mansion – a restaurant, bed & breakfast and one of St. Louis’ top “haunted” houses. Nearby, Anheuser-Busch offers free tours of the historic brewery complex. West of Jefferson Avenue, the Cherokee Station shopping district offers Hispanic restaurants and bakeries and old-style variety stores.
