10 Events Happening in St. Louis – March 2019
March means it’s almost spring in St. Louis, and there are plenty of ways to get out and enjoy the sunshine and warmer temperatures this month. From Arch Madness to the beautiful display of colors at the Butterfly House’s Morpho Mardi Gras event, St. Louis hosts tons of events during the month of March.
The Bud Light Grand Parade | March 2
St. Louis is famous for our festive Mardi Gras celebrations. All of the majestic events take place in the historic Soulard neighborhood leading up to the Bud Light Grand Parade . The crown jewel of the Soulard Mardi Gras season is the biggest parade outside of the Big Easy. It begins at Busch Stadium and proceeds through the streets of Downtown South and Soulard to the Anheuser-Busch Brewery.
Morpho Mardi Gras at the Butterfly House | Through March 31
Join the party at our Bugs on Parade, make a masquerade mask, and immerse yourself in a sea of blue as the Butterfly House floods the tropical conservatory with thousands of Blue Morpho butterflies. Inaugurate the season with these and other majestic creatures.
Missouri Botanical Garden Orchid Show | Through March 24
Immerse yourself in a tropical oasis with the Garden’s display of hundreds of beautiful orchids on view at the Orchid Show. Enjoy an lighted viewing of the orchid displays with live music, tastings from local wineries and more when you catch Orchid Nights every Thursday until March 7.
Monster Jam at America’s Center | March 2-3
Don’t miss your chance to see Monster Jam, when Grave Digger, Max D, El Toro Loco and other famous trucks return to The Dome at America’s Center.
Arch Madness | March 7 – 10
Are you ready for March Madness in St. Louis? Scottrade Center welcomes the return of the State Farm MVC Men’s Basketball Championship (Mar. 7-10). Ten teams will compete to determine who will be granted an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
42nd Annual Builders St. Louis Home and Garden Show | March 7 – 10
From lawn & garden to kitchen & bath, the 42nd Annual Builders St. Louis Home & Garden Show is the place to be to learn about the latest in home products and services all under one roof at the America’s Center complex.
St. Patrick’s Day Parades | March 16-17
St. Paddy’s Day is upon us once again! The 50th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Mar. 16) will take place beginning at 12 p.m. in downtown St. Louis. The parade features over 120 units, including marching bands, floats, large balloon characters and 5000 participants. Before the parade, there is a 5-mile St. Patrick’s Day Parade Run through the streets of downtown St. Louis starting at 9 a.m. The Ancient Order of Hibernians Parade (Mar. 17) kicks off in the Dogtown Neighborhood at 11:00 a.m. and runs down Tamm Ave.
Schlafly Stout & Oyster Festival | March 22 – 23
It’s Schlafly’s biggest food & beer festival of the year! Schlafly flies in over 70,000 fresh oysters and teams of star shuckers from both coasts. Indulge in several varieties of oysters and pair them with 15 styles of Schlafly stout: Oatmeal Stout, Coffee Stout, Nitro Irish Stout, Extra Irish Stout and Oyster Stout.
Maplewood Coffee Crawl | March 23
The Maplewood Coffee Crawl is the regions’ only walkable tour of caffeine, offering guests the opportunity to meet area roasters, sample coffee and see coffee making demonstrations.
Catch a show at The Fabulous Fox Theatre | March 12-April 7
A magnificently restored theatre in the Grand Center Arts District is the perfect venue to see the hottest Broadway shows and concerts in St. Louis. Shows coming to the Fabulous Fox Theatre in March include Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Mar. 12 – 17) and Waitress (Mar. 26- April 7).
