Morpho Mardi Gras at the Butterfly House | Through March 21
Bring your Krewe to the carnival during the months of March. Join the party during their Bug Parade, make a masquerade mask, and immerse yourself in a sea of blue as the Butterfly House floods the tropical conservatory with thousands of Blue Morpho butterflies. With the sounds of jazz in the air, inaugurate the season with these and other majestic creatures. This year, we will be featuring a larger-than-life glass Blue Morpho sculpture, by Craig Mitchell Smith.
Route 66 Exhibit | Through July 2017
The Missouri History Museum is hosting a popular exhibit on Route 66 through July 2017. Learn the stories about the motels, custard stands, and tourist traps that could be found along the road as it passed through St. Louis. Visitors will see a number of artifacts ranging from gas pumps to roadside signs and will even get a chance to drive the road themselves.
Arch Madness | March 2 – 5
March is the best time of the year for college basketball and the action in St. Louis begins with Arch Madness, the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament at Scottrade Center. The winner of the Valley championship goes on to play in the NCAA tournament.
Builders Home and Garden Show | March 9 – 12′
The Builders St. Louis Home & Garden Show, produced by the Home Builders Association of St. Louis and Eastern Missouri, is Missouri’s largest home product market place! For nearly 40 years the Show has been THE place for area consumers to see, touch, compare and buy everything they need for their homes, yards and gardens. Approximately 400 exhibitors, many local, in 1,800 booths fill almost 400,000 square feet of America’s Center. New products, informative speakers, exciting attractions and family fun areas make the Home & Garden Show a must-see event!
Schlafly Stout & Oyster Festival | March 10 – 11
It’s Schlafly’s biggest food & beer festival of the year! Schlafly files in over 70,000 fresh oysters and teams of star shuckers from both coasts. Indulge in several varieties of oysters and pair them with 15 styles of Schlafly stout: Oatmeal Stout, Coffee Stout, Nitro Irish Stout, Extra Irish Stout and Oyster Stout.
St. Patrick’s Day Parades | March 11 & 17
St. Louis shows off its Irish pride with two St. Patrick’s Day parades. This year, the parades are held on different days so you can attend both! On March 11, the Downtown Parade kicks off at 11am from 20th and Market. On March 17, the Dogtown Parade kicks off at 12:30 pm from Tamm and Oakland.
Million Dollar Quartet | March 15 – April 9
When Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins kick off an impromptu jam session at Sun Studios, the air crackles with star power. 2017 U.S. Chess Championship Saint Louis | March 27 – April 10
