Happy Thanksgiving weekend! Here are 10 things to do over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend in St. Louis.

Ameren Thanksgiving Day Parade | November 28

The Ameren Thanksgiving Day Parade takes to the streets of downtown on Thanksgiving morning at 8:45 am with over 130 parade units, including musical floats, displays, giant helium balloon figures, local marching bands and an appearance by Santa Claus to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. Prior to the parade, runners of all ages can hit the streets for the annual Turkey Trot 5K.

Wild Lights | Through December 30

Walk through the world-renowned Saint Louis Zoo and take in a wonderland of spectacular light displays.  In addition to over 1 million twinkling lights visitors can enjoy s’mores, children’s activities and more.

Steinberg Skating Rink | Through February

Always a holiday and seasonal favorite is a visit to Steinberg Ice Rink in Forest Park. It is the largest outdoor skating rink in the Midwest and is open to the public every day of the week, including holidays.

The Polar Express Train Ride | November 29 – December 30

The magical story of a boy’s search for the meaning of Christmas comes to life when real trains departs St. Louis Union Station for a round-trip journey to the North Pole. Passengers will relive the magic of the story The Polar Express. Once onboard, hot chocolate and cookies are served as passengers read along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg.

The Nutcracker | November 29 – December 1

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra begins the holiday season by playing one of the Christmas favorites: Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, with its famous “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” “Trepak,” and “Waltz of the Flowers.” Led by conductor Andrew Grams in his SLSO debut.

PJ’s & Pancakes with Santa | November 23 – December 14

Cruise the Mighty Mississippi on the Gateway Arch Riverboat with the big man himself—Santa Claus! Come dressed in your favorite PJs and leave the cooking to us. Your family will enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet, holiday activities, unique views of downtown and the Gateway Arch, and a photo with Santa.

Garden Glow | Through January 1

Hundreds of thousands of lights will decorate the Missouri Botanical Garden for the Annual Garden Glow. Walk through the light display and take in the live holiday music, snacks, and shopping.

Brewery Lights | Through January 1

Experience the wonder of Anheuser- Busch St. Louis.  Take a self guided tour of all the light displays on Pestalozzi Street.  The biergarten has plenty of snacks for purchase, and you can also buy s’mores kits for roasting.  For those who are 21 and over, don’t forget to get a wristband for five-ounce samples of budweiser brews.
