The weather is getting colder, but there’s plenty to see and do in November in St. Louis. Take a look at these events this month.
Shakespeare Festival St. Louis: In the Works | October 28 – November 24
Building on its beloved summer productions in Forest Park, and the acclaimed Shakespeare in the Streets program, the Festival now presents its very first season of contemporary American plays by writers in dialogue with Shakespeare at the Grandel Theatre, headlined by the regional premiere of Into the Breeches! Written by the award-winning playwright of Grounded, which starred Anne Hathaway in its New York run, Into the Breeches! is a hilarious and heartwarming look at the WWII home front and a group of ladies left behind who band together to keep the local theater going with their very own production of Henry V.
2018 St. Louis International Film Festival | November 1 – 11
For twenty-six glorious years, the St. Louis International Film Festival has been screening features and shorts from around the world at venues throughout the St. Louis region. Don’t miss this chance to catch one of the festival’s most impressive offerings with more than 450 films including narrative features, documentary features, and hundreds of shorts all set to make this year’s celebration the best yet!
St. Louis Symphony – Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas | November 2 – 4
Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tim Burton’s halloween classic with the St. Louis Symphony. Follow Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloweentown, on his quest to seize Christmas with the help of some mischievous trick-or-treaters, while the St. Louis Symphony orchestra performs the delightfully eccentric score live.
The Grand Reopening of Soldiers Memorial | November 3 – 12
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, the conflict that led to the creation of Soldiers Memorial Military Museum in downtown St. Louis. To commemorate this important centennial – and to celebrate the grand reopening of Soldiers Memorial, join them for a series of events honoring local military service members, veterans and their families. Joe Bonamassa | November 10

Polar Express Train Ride | November 16 – December 30

In the shadow of the Gateway Arch or under its new lights, the Winterfest Ice Rink is a great winter destination with regular hours and special events November 17, 2018 – January 1, 2019! Enjoy the rink, sip hot chocolate in the renovated park, or explore the playground.
Ameren Missouri Festival of Lights | November 17
The always anticipated Ameren Missouri Festival of Lights returns to Kiener Plaza! helps ring in the holiday season with musical entertainment, children’s activities, vendors, and fireworks that follow the annual lighting of the Salvation Army’s Tree of Lights on November 17 beginning at 4:30 – 8pm pm.
Ameren Thanksgiving Day Parade | November 22
The Ameren Thanksgiving Day Parade takes to the streets of downtown on November 22 at 8:45 am with over 130 parade units, including musical floats, displays, giant helium balloon figures, local marching bands and an appearance by Santa Claus to wish everyone at Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. Prior to the parade, runners of all ages will be hitting the streets for the annual Turkey Trot 5K.
Whiskey in the Winter | November 30
Whiskey In The Winter is a whiskey festival that will take place at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown St. Louis. This event will feature over 400 whiskies from around the world along with great whiskey cocktails, whiskey-inspired food stations, and educational seminars from whiskey industry experts.
VP Racing Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals | November 29 – December 1
The VP Racing Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals is coming to The Dome at America’s Center on November 29 – Decemeber 1, for the largest indoor stock car competition in 34 years. Race fans will marvel at these 800-horsepower stock cars competing on a fifth-mile, semi-banked oval dirt track. The action will be fast and furious, so don’t miss out.
