15 Events Happening in St. Louis – March 2020
March means it’s almost spring in St. Louis, and there are plenty of ways to get out and enjoy the sunshine and warmer temperatures this month. From Arch Madness to the beautiful display of colors at the Butterfly House’s Morpho Mardi Gras event, St. Louis hosts tons of events during the month of March.
Morpho Mardi Gras at the Butterfly House | Through March 31
Join the party at our Bugs on Parade, make a masquerade mask, and immerse yourself in a sea of blue as the Butterfly House floods the tropical conservatory with thousands of Blue Morpho butterflies. Inaugurate the season with these and other majestic creatures.
Missouri Botanical Garden Orchid Show | Through March 24
Immerse yourself in a tropical oasis with the Garden’s display of hundreds of beautiful orchids on view at the Orchid Show. Enjoy a lighted viewing of the orchid displays with live music, tastings from local wineries and more when you catch Orchid Nights every Thursday until March 5.
Art in Bloom | March 6 – 8
Art in Bloom, the Museum’s annual celebration of flowers and fine art returns. Dozens of works from the Museum’s collection will be imaginatively interpreted through floral design by the region’s most talented florists. In addition to the floral displays, the free festival includes floral presentations and lectures, family activities, dining, and shopping.
Arch Madness | March 5 – 8
Are you ready for March Madness in St. Louis? Enterprise Center welcomes the return of the State Farm MVC Men’s Basketball Championship. Ten teams will compete to determine who will be granted an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Da Vinci The Exhibition | through – April 19
The Saint Louis Science Center is celebrating the life and work of Leonardo Da Vinci. The new exhibit features the work of the eminently impressive and prolific inventor, artist and scientist, and treats visitors to more than 60 life-size replicas of his inventions and twenty replicas of his art.
Catch a concert at The Pageant
The Pageant music venue in the Delmar Loop —which opened in the year 2000—placed fourth in Pollstar’s 2018 rankings of top clubs worldwide. Enjoy a adulte night out on the town. Live performances at The Pageant this month include The Floozies (March 6), The Revivalists (March 10), Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (March 14-15) and more.
Builders St. Louis Home and Garden Show | March 5 – 8
Gain inspiration and ideas for home improvement at the Annual Builders St. Louis Home & Garden Show at America’s Center—travelers can also make a business trip out of it. Contractors, decorators, and architects network at the trade show which has over 1,400 vendor booths and six areas: Lawn & Garden, Kitchen & Bath, Interior Design, Pool & Spa, New Construction Zone, and Home Products. Enjoy the event on March 5-8, 2020, and tour the city sites after hours.
St. Patrick’s Day Parades | March 14 & 17
St. Paddy’s Day is upon us once again! The 50th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Mar. 14) will take place beginning at 12 p.m. in downtown St. Louis. The parade features over 120 units, including marching bands, floats, large balloon characters and 5000 participants. Before the parade, there is a 5-mile St. Patrick’s Day Parade Run through the streets of downtown St. Louis starting at 9 a.m. The Ancient Order of Hibernians Parade (Mar. 17) kicks off in the Dogtown Neighborhood at 11:00 a.m. and runs down Tamm Ave.
Recovery Brunch Cruise | March 15
Nothing beats a hangover like breakfast food, and no day produces more hangovers than St. Patrick’s Day. Join the Riverboats at the Gateway the day after the downtown St. Louis parade, on Sunday, March 15, for a little food, fun and hair of the dog.
Schlafly Stout & Oyster Festival | March 20 – 21
It’s Schlafly’s biggest food & beer festival of the year! Schlafly flies in over 80,000 fresh oysters and teams of star shuckers from both coasts. FestivAle 2020 | March 27
FestivAle brings together beer enthusiasts to Saint Louis Union Station to sample handcrafted, high-end beers from the Midwest’s finest brewers. The event features food tasting stations, a silent auction, beer-related contests and more to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Gateway Chapter.
Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit | March 27 – 28
With more than 200 exhibit booths and 15,000 attendees expected at this two-day event, the Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit is the premier consumer show and cultural gathering for the Midwest regional outdoor community. The event will highlight activities such as running, biking, hiking, camping, climbing, and paddling, as well as adventure travel, health and wellness, and more. Pokémon GO Safari Zone St. Louis | March 27 – 29
The very first Safari Zone event of the year take place in St. Louis! This cultural hub of music, sports, and beautiful parks will be home to Safari Zone St. Louis from Friday, March 27, to Sunday, March 29, 2020. Trainers can look forward to encountering Mankey, Unown S, Teddiursa, Snivy, and Ferroseed throughout the park.
GO! St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend | March 28 – 29
As the largest competitive fitness event in Missouri, this popular family fitness weekend attracts more than 25,000 participants and includes races for all ages and fitness abilities. The weekend includes a full marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 10K, 5K, children’s fun runs, and more! See a Show at the Fabulous Fox Theatre
