4 Places to Ice Skate in St. Louis

Thursday December 6, 2018

Winter has arrived in St. Louis and we’re full of great ice rink options. Here are 4 ice skating spots around our city to lace up your skates.

Steinberg Skating Rink

Always a holiday and seasonal favorite is a visit to Steinberg Ice Rink in Forest Park. It is the largest outdoor skating rink in the Midwest and is open to the public every day of the week, including holidays. The rink also includes fire pits and an indoor cafe with soups, sandwiches, pizzas and other casual fare. $7 plus $5 skate rental.

Shaw Park Ice Rink

Enjoy a skate around Clayton’s public ice rink every weekend this winter. There are hockey skills sessions for kids who are more into shooting and scoring than figure eights. The rink is also open for birthday parties and events, with the option to rent a bonfire. Open now through February.

Bud Light Ice Rink at Anheuser-Busch Brewery

The King of Beers has set up a ice rink for their annual Brewery Lights. The holiday light show is family friendly with fire pits, hot cocoa, s’mores, photo ops with the Clydesdales, and beer sampling for the grown ups. Open now through January 1. Admission is free. Skate rental fees are donated to the St. Louis Blues 14 Fund.

Winterfest at the Arch

You’re sure to get excellent photos when you take the kids skating at Winterfest at the Arch—located right in Kiener Plaza with the Old Courthouse and the Gateway Arch in the background. The festival will feature a temporary 46-by-92-foot ice rink. Open now through January 1$12 skate rental for adults. $7 skate rental for children 3-15.
