4 Places to Ice Skate in St. Louis
Winter has arrived in St. Louis and we’re full of great ice rink options. Here are 4 ice skating spots around our city to lace up your skates.
Always a holiday and seasonal favorite is a visit to Steinberg Ice Rink in Forest Park. It is the largest outdoor skating rink in the Midwest and is open to the public every day of the week, including holidays. The rink also includes fire pits and an indoor cafe with soups, sandwiches, pizzas and other casual fare.
Ice skaters from across the region will once again flock to Shaw Park this year to enjoy one of the few remaining outdoor ice rinks in the area. The rink offers a wonderful backdrop with the downtown Clayton skyline and the long-standing oak trees in Shaw Park.
This year, Anheuser Busch took their annual holiday light display and stepped it up a notch. While you’re enjoying their holiday light displays and sampling beer you can take a few laps around the new ice skating rink.
For the first time ever, you’ll be able to skate with the Gateway Arch in the background. The temporary ice rink will be located at Luther Ely Smith Square, between the Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse. This is a part of Winterfest, a two week celebration that will take place from Dec 27 – January 8.
