St. Louis International Film Festival: November 15 – 24
With 330 films to screen, including 75 narrative features, 63 documentaries and 192 shorts, the 22nd annual Whitaker St. Louis International Film Festival presented by Cinema St. Louis is 10 days of art you won’t want to miss. The highlight of this year’s festival is an appearance by Oscar®-winning writer/director Oliver Stone, who will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, discuss his career, and screen his director’s cut of “JFK” on Friday, Nov. 22, the 50th anniversary of President John F. Godspell: November 15 – 17
Godspell takes the Peabody stage featuring new production and choreography, as well as familiar tunes from Grammy Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz of WICKED.
Taubman Prestige Outlets Tree Lighting Ceremony: November 16
Break out the jingle bells! This Saturday, join Taubman Prestige Outlets for the First Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and help light the giant holiday tree. Festivities include performances by Muny Kids and TeamSTAGES along with crafts and a visit from Santa plus other holiday surprises and shopping.
St. Louis Symphony Family Concert: SymphonySLAM: November 17
Bringing the arts — or at least music and the visual arts — together is the theme this Sunday afternoon at Powell Symphony Hall. SymphonySLAM, a collaboration between STL Symphony and the Saint Louis Art Museum. STL Symphony Music Director David Robertson pairs images of some of the Saint Louis Art Museum’s beloved treasures with music from Britten and Bartók. Perfect for families!
RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles: November 15-16
The popular salute to the Beatles marks the 50th anniversary hitting the U.S. so this year’s tour is the show you know and love but BETTER – this visually STUNNING show includes new songs you’ve never seen from RAIN before!
