Happy Friday! Here are five events you won’t want to miss in St. Louis this weekend:
Soulard Mardi Gras River City Grand Parade, February 9 at 11 a.m. FREE
Throw me some beads, woohoo! The River City Casino Grand Parade is the biggest event of Mardi Gras in St. Louis, bringing in tens of thousands to the streets of Soulard. The Parade makes its way from Busch Stadium to Anheuser-Busch then after the parade, the crowd makes its way into Soulard neighborhood to enjoy food, plenty of drinks, live music and crazy events through the day. Saint Louis Zoo Mardi Gras Celebration, February 10 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. FREE
If Soulard Mardi Gras celebration isn’t your thing the Saint Louis Zoo host a Mardi Gras celebration for children of all ages. They’ll be able to create their own masks, listen to music and join a Mardi Gras parade around the Zoo.
St. Louis Boat and Sports Show, February 8 from 12p – 9p, February 9 from 10a – 9p and February 10 from 11a – 5p.
If marine machines float your boat, you should definitely head to America’s Center this weekend to view the vast display of vessels at the St. Louis Boat and Sports Show. The Titanic-sized exhibit floor is flooded with sports boating industry’s latest boats, engines and accessories. Catch special appearances by the gator-hunting father/son duo of R.J. and Jay Paul Molinere from the History Channel’s Swamp People and cheer for canine athletes during the splashy DockDogs Competition. You’ll also be able to experience scuba diving, learn to paddle board and test out kaykaks in the paddlers party cove. Price $10 for Adults and Youth 15 and Younger Free
The Magic House, The Magic School Bus Kicks Up a Storm, February 9, Free with Admission
Seatbelts everyone! Get ready to blast off with The Magic School Bus Kick Up a Storm beginning this weekend at The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum newest exhibit. This electrifying exhibit features three interactive and hands-on Magic School Bus environment, in which parents and children will have a great time learning about different types of weather and weather prediction.
Saint Louis Ballet: Romeo and Juliet February 8 – 10, times vary, Admission $27 – $47
The Saint Louis Ballet brings the passionate and heart-breaking affair of Romeo and Juliet to life through dance and the haunting music of Prokofiev. This passionate and dramatic story ballet would be a great pre -Valentines’s Day date ideat to get the romance going with sword fighting, court dancing and the iconic balcony pas de deux. This ballet takes place February 8 through the 10 at the Touhill Performing Arts Center.
