The River Between Us at the Laumeier Sculpture Park
The River Between Us” is a co-organized exhibition by Laumeier Sculpture Park and Longue Vue House and Gardens in New Orleans. The exhibit links these two Mississippi River communities, as artists approach the social histories of the Native American, French, Spanish and American traditions in each. The indoor and outdoor exhibit will be the second collaboration between the two organizations that will focus on past roots, but impact the future
James S. McDonnell Planetarium 50th Anniversary at the Saint Louis Science Center
Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the James S. McDonnell Planetarium at the Saint Louis Science Center for being one of the nation’s leading space education facilities. Adult ZooQuest at the Saint Louis Zoo, Sunday, April 14 – 11 – 3pm
Why should kids have all the fun! All adults 18+, come enjoy a day of challenging, quest-based game at the St. Louis Zoo. As part of a teams of 2-4 people, come dressed in team uniforms and play trivia challenges around the zoo. Along with your best team name, the challenge includes part road rally and part scavenger but all for a good day of fun. This game guarantees that its participants will never view the St. Louis Zoo the same way again. The quests involve animal theme puzzles and problems that require teams to travel throughout the Zoo in order to complete the tasks.
Laserium at the Saint Louis Science Center, Friday, April 12, various times
Dazzle your senses with a cosmic laser light concert by a master laserist, as “Laserium” returns to the James S. McDonnell Planetarium every Thursday and Friday in April. “Laserium” is an explosion of sound and colored light, set to music from electronic to rock to classical. The set list this weekend includes Pink Floyd, Strauss and “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun (Pink Floyd), and many more.
St. Louis Teen Talent Competition at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, Friday, April 12 – 7pm
Enjoy an evening of talent as Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation presents St. Louis Teen Talent Competition. After weeks of tough competition, performing arts professionals have judged and narrowed down 37 metro area high school acts to 12 acts who will move on to the finals at The Fox. Free and open to the public, the final competition will act as a Broadway-style show. The final competition judges include many who have careers in film, television and Broadway. This year’s special guest judges include Missouri native Taylor Lauderman (“Bring It On: The Musical”), St. Louis native Anne Wershing (“ 24” and “Dallas”) and many more St. Louis favorites.
