2018 Sinquefield Cup | August 17 – 28

The eyes of the chess world will once again focus on the Saint Louis Chess Club as the 2018 Sinquefield Cup begins on Friday featuring some of the top competitors from the Grand Chess Tour vying for $300,000 in prize money.

St. Louis World’s Fare Heritage Festival | August 17 – 19

In its 5th year, the St. Louis World’s Fare brings all people together to celebrate the region’s finest Music, Art Food and History in historic Forest park.  The festival features, local music and art, food trucks, ferris wheel and loads of family fun.

2018 Rise Up Festival – Celebrating Revitalization | August 18

What began as a way to rebrand The Rise Community Development stuck, evolving into an annual celebration. The nonprofit aims to enliven neighborhoods and bring people together in the city. Performers, musicians, artists, and vendors fill Washington Avenue.

Rock the Hops | August 18

Just a short drive from downtown St. Louis, Rock the Hops returns for it’s 4th year.  Rock the Hops shines the light on the burgeoning music and arts scene in the Metro East + STL.  The celebration offers more than 25 styles of beer from local breweries, up and coming artists and makers, and more than 25 musical performances.

Festival of the Little Hills | August 17 – 19

The annual arts and crafts festival fills historic downtown St. Charles’ cobblestone streets and Frontier Park with hand-crafted pottery, soy candles, and more. Snack on kettle corn and other treats from more than 50 food vendors. Entertainment also includes plenty of live music and a kids’ corner.
