Open Highway Music Festival | August 2 – 5
The Open Highway Music Festival returns to St. Louis at Off Broadway this weekend. This year’s lineup includes Old 97’s, Israel Nash, and AV & The Dirty Details on Thursday; Son Volt, The Dust Covers, and Karen Choi on Friday; Ha Ha Tonka, Bruiser Queen, and Town Cars on Saturday; and J. Roddy Walston & The Business, *repeat repeat, and The Wilderness on Sunday. (Festival passes that cover all acts are sold out, but tickets for individual days are still available.)
Blues at the Arch | August 3, 10, 17, 24
The Gateway Arch Park Foundation and National Blues Museum are bringing Blues at the Arch – a free concert series featuring local, regional and national blues artists – to the newly renovated Gateway Arch National Park. Taking place Fridays in August, the four-week concert series kicks off Friday, August 3 in the North Gateway featuring Little Dylan and Zac Harmon. This event is family- and dog-friendly. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
St. Louis VegFest | August 4
The first-ever St. Louis VegFest comes to World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park this Saturday. VegFest has a program of entertainment, cooking demonstrations, product samples, and giveaways, in addition to vendors from exceptional local businesses and organizations. No matter what your interest, you are sure to find this free event exciting and inspiring. Be sure to arrive at the World’s Fair Pavilion, starting at 11 am to participate in the fun!
STAGES St. Louis Presents: Mamma Mia | Through August 19
The ultimate feel-good show, Mamma Mia! uses the music of ABBA to tell the hilarious and touching tale of a teen’s search for her birth father on a Greek Island paradise. See why 54 million people all around the world have fallen in love with this pop-music phenomenon of a mother, a daughter, three possible dads, and an unforgettable trip down the aisle!
Aparna Nancherla | August 4
Aparna Nancherla comes to The Pageant for a special stand-up event to benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank. Aparna started out doing comedy in her hometown of Washington D.C. and now resides in New York City. 2016’s Elle’s Women in Comedy Issue, featured her as one of the most exciting new voices to hit the comedy scene. She is a series regular in the debut season of Comedy Central’s Corporate and has reprised her role in season 2 of HBO’s CRASHING. Aparna is also featured in the second season of Netflix’s The Standups.
