Citywide Toast to Chuck Berry & Chuck Berry’s Funeral | April 8 & 9
On Saturday at 10 p.m., when Chuck Berry would’ve punctually taken the stage at Blueberry Hill, the city will celebrate with an official toast to the late musician. Naturally, there will be celebratory clinking of glasses at Blueberry Hill, but everyone everywhere is invited to toast the father of rock ‘n’ roll. In Berry’s spirit, though—he was always on time—be sure to hit it right on the dot. (Chuck was also a teetotaler, so if you really want to toast in his spirit, you might consider a non-alcoholic beverage.) People are invited to post their toasting selfies to social media with the hashtag #ToastToChuck. On Sunday, The Pageant will host a public viewing prior to Berry’s private funeral ceremony. Fans can begin lining up at 5 a.m., with the viewing closing at noon. Here’s more info, including charities to donate to in lieu of flowers. content source – Stlmag.com
