Happy Friday! It’s time for a fun-filled weekend in St. Louis. If you are still pulling your plans together, here are a few suggestions to help make this a memorable weekend.
Maifest at Urban Chestnut | May 14
In Germany, they toast to the arrival of spring with bock beers. In much the same spirit, Urban Chestnut is throwing an all-day fest that will feature beer, barbecue and live music by Larry Hallar, Paul Bonn & the Bluesmen, and Rusty Nail. $6 individual food and drink tickets; $18 festival pass includes commemorative glass. Noon–10 p.m. Urban Chestnut in midtown, 3229 Washington.
Join St. Louis County Parks and St. Louis Food Truck Association for Parks Food Truck Fest. Scott Laytham & Karl Holmes Duo will be playing from 5:30-7:30pm with the food trucks onsite from 5-8pm.
If you are looking for a weekend of thrills, then might we suggest taking in the 2016 Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield Valley. You’ll marvel at the amazing flight maneuvers from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Canadian Snowbirds and more. In addition to the aircraft, the STEM Expo highlights the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) initiatives of academic, business and not-for profit institutions in the St. Louis area.
Art in the Square | May 13 – 15
A juried art show featuring the original works of over 100 accomplished artists from around the world. There will also be musical and stage performances as well as local food and drink. Children will enjoy the interactive children’s art section where they will create their own take-away art projects.

If you are looking for live music this weekend, then we’ve got you covered. Country mega-star Miranda Lambert brings her ‘Keeper of the Flame Tour’ to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on Friday, May 13. The stage at Jazz at the Bistro welcomes the Pat Martino Trio (May 11-14) giving music lovers a taste of one of the most virtuosic, admired and emulated jazz guitarists in history. Finally, acclaimed vocalist Brian Owens performs at the Sheldon Concert Hall on May 14 with a tribute to the legendary Bill Withers, performing such classics as “Lean on Me,” “Just the Two of Us,” and more!
