Happy Friday! It’s time for another fun-filled weekend in St. Louis. If you are still pulling your plans together, here are a few suggestions to help make this a memorable weekend.
Young Frankenstein | July 13 – 19
Enjoy an evening of musical fun with the Muny Premiere of “Young Frankenstein.” This madcap comedy by Mel Brooks is sure to have you laughing the night away. Enter the world of Transylvania, complete with Dr. Frankenstein and Igor, as they bring to life one of literature’s most infamous characters.
St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase | July 17 – 21
Cinema St. Louis presents its annual film festival showcasing local filmmakers. Films range from full-length fiction, to short documentaries to multi-film compilations. All featured films were either written, produced, edited or directed by St. Louis natives. Many of the full-length features are followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.
One of St. Louis’ most iconic parks is turning 40 this year and you are invited to join in the celebration. A series of events are set to help celebrate Laumeier Sculpture Park’s 40th Anniversary, including a special kick-off concert on Saturday, July 16, featuring Dr. James Henry with Vocal Point, Dr. Gail Fleming with Melodia and the Vaughans Quartet.
Kirkwood Peach Festival | July 16
Family activities, food tastings, and live music will all be featured at this year’s peach festival. Put your taste buds to the test in the best locally grown peaches competition and try different seasonal items at the Farmer’s Market.
Internet Cat Video Festival | July 14 – 15
For its final year, join fellow cat lovers for some feline induced laughs. The three-night program will feature hands-on activities, food trucks and a curated collection of “purrs and lolz.” Be sure to don your favorite cat couture, as the best costume will receive a CAM membership.
