Festival of Nations | August 26 – 27
The International Institute’s annual celebration is the region’s premier multicultural celebration. The Festival of Nations offers a chance to experience food, dance, music, and crafts from around the world. This year the festival features more than 40 food booths, featuring food from such countries as Afghanistan, India, Bolivia, Ethiopia, Germany, Turkey, Venezuela, Vietnam, Scotland, and more.
2017 Verizon IndyCar Series at Gateway Motorsports Park | August 25 – 26
The inaugural Verizon IndyCar Series Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Valvoline comes to Gateway Motorsports Park. You won’t want to miss America’s best drivers compete against drivers from around the world
Under Cover Weekend at Delmar Hall | August 24 – 26
Under Cover Weekend is a three day music festival that covers a different decade of music each day. It casts 15 local bands in the roles of famous national acts. This year, fest covers a different decade each day, with the ’80s on Thursday, the ’90s on Friday, and the ’00s on Saturday.
SLAM Underground: Purple Reign | August 25
In honor of the museum’s main exhibition, Reigning Men, Fashion in Menswear, 1715-2015, SLAM is celebrating the one, the only, the ultimate Reigning Man, Prince. Party outside in the sculpture garden with DJ Agile One, create your own fashion designs, test your skills at Prince trivia, and enjoy a special purple cocktail. Purple attire encouraged.
Blues at the Arch | August 25
St. Louis’ rich Blues heritage is celebrated with live music every Friday in August. Visitors are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from vendors on site and coolers and picnics are allowed. This Friday’s concert will feature Marquise Knox and Dexter Allen. All events will take place from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m
