5 Things To Do This Weekend in St. Louis 8/4 – 8/6

Happy Friday! It’s time for another fun-filled weekend in St. Louis. If you are still pulling your plans together for the weekend, here are a few suggestions to help.

Blues at the Arch: Big George Brock and Lil’ Ray Neal | August 4

The Gateway Arch Park Foundation and National Blues Museum are teaming up again to bring a free concert series to a newly renovated section of the Gateway Arch park grounds. Blues at the Arch is a four week series that takes place Fridays in August. It kicks-off Friday, August 4, in the North Gateway (the north end of the park, near Laclede’s Landing) with the Arch and Eads Bridge as beautiful backdrops. Concerts will also take place on August 11, 18 and 25. All events will take place from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Family Fun Day | August 5

Family Fun Day returns to Ballpark Village and is bigger and better than ever. The event will feature over 20 activities including balloon artists, rides, inflatables, bubble bus, rock climbing wall, Fredbird appearance, sports teams, and more! Admission into the event is free but certain premium activities require a $10 all-access wristband.

54th Annual Moonlight Ramble | August 5

The 54th Annual Moonlight Ramble, the world’s original nighttime bike ride, returns to the streets of downtown St. Louis on Saturday, August 5. Attracting thousands of riders each year, the Moonlight Ramble includes a leisurely bike ride under the light of the moon through the streets of St. Louis, a vendor area, live musical entertainment, a glow-in-the-dark commemorative event t-shirt, and a family-friendly pre-ride and after-ride party. Participants can choose between a short (9.5 miles) ride and a long (18.5 miles) ride. Riders should arrive to 8th & Cerre Street between 9p.m.-11:45p.m.; the ride starts promptly at 12:01a.m.

Sinquefield Cup | August 1 – 12

The 2017 Sinquefield Cup at the Chess club and Scholastic Center of St. Louis is an elite international event, featuring 10 of the strongest chess players in the world. Over the course of nine rounds, these competitors will battle for $300,000 in prize money, points toward the Grand Chess Tour, and the coveted title of 2017 Sinquefield Cup Champion.

The Burbs Music & Arts Festival | August 5

The ’Burbs Music & Arts Festival will electrify all music, art and festival lovers alike on Saturday, August 5 with good vibes and chill rays. Festival includes music genres EDM, Pop/Rock, Hip Hop, Jam and Soul. The festival will take over Central Park and Chesterfield Amphitheater, setting itself up to be the party of the summer.
