This weekend, St. Louisans and visitors will join in tributes to the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Check out this information on the various observances and others events to honor Dr. King.

Come join the University of Missouri – St. Louis and the St. Louis community to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. KMOV St. Louis, News4 Anchor, Jasmine Hude will be the master of ceremonies. Youth advocate, Army combat veteran, social entrepreneur, and host of Beyond Belief on the Oprah Winfrey Network, Wes Morre, will be the guest speaker. You’ll also enjoy Performances by UMSL Theatre and Dance department faculty students.

The Meeting – January 17 – 26
Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday with “The Meeting” at The Black Rep. The show is about the fascinating and dramatically compelling story of a supposed meeting between Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther Kin.

MLK Day March and Rally – January 20
Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a March beginning at the Old Court House in St. Louis and ends at Harris-Stowe State University where an all high school day party with a purpose will begin. For more info contact: Amber Boykins at 314-385-6499

Loop Ice Carnival - 2Minority Scientist Showcase – January 18 – 20
Sprouting STEM scientists must teleport to the Saint Louis Science Center’s for its 24th Annual Minority Scientists Showcase. Professionals met one-on-one with youth and their families to discuss the benefits of pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Loop Ice Carnival – January 17 – 18
Celebrate winter for free with live ice carving demos, Frozen Buns Runs, a putt-putt pub crawl, a s’mores roast, live entertainment and more.

Eagle days at the Old Chain Rocks Bridge – January 18 – 19
Winter is eagle spottin’ time! This weekend take an eagle winter escape over to Eagle Days at the Old Chain Rocks Bridge. Bring your binoculars ans watch these magnificent birds roost in nearby trees, land, on ice floes and dive for fish.

Ice Skating at Steinberg in Forest Park – January 17 – 20
Take in the beautiful views of Forest Park as you ice skate in one of the most popular outdoor rinks in St. Louis. After a few spins around the ice you can warm up with hot chocolate or a meal at the Snowflake Café.
