St. Louis’ biggest party is just around the corner!

Mardi Gras festivities kicked off with 12th Night, January 6 and it continues throughout the entire month of February and into March.

The Grand Parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 1 and the Light Up the Night Parade will be held on Fat Tuesday, March 4.

Snow or shine! Softball in Februray with Mardi Gras beads-And for a good cause! The game benefits the Police Athletic League and will be held at the Forest Park Central Ballfields from 7:30 a.m. until dusk. There is a $150 entry fee. For more information, visit: http://bit.ly/1f8VUv4

A big fun-filled Mardi Gras happy hour that includes a wide range of wines, beers courtesy of AB Inbev, and whiskeys from Jack Daniels will be available to guests who purchase a ticket. FEB. 15 The Lumiere Place Cajun Cook-Off and Tony Chachere’s Crawfish Boil
Heat up your February at the Lumiere Cajun Cook-Off & Tony Chachere’s Crawfish Boil. Enjoy an open bar including: cold Bud Light, Southern Comfort Hurricanes, soft drinks, and water. FEB. 22: Mardi Gra 5K
A 5K run Mardi Gras style complete with beer, hurricanes, and beads! Show up at the Bud Light Party Centre appropriately festooned and ready to race your way through historic Soulard in an effort to claim the title of fastest reveler. Other runs feature water stations along the route, we offer a beer and hurricane station. There are prizes for first place in several age categories and for best costume. Everyone who enters gets the limited edition Run For Your Beads t-shirt and complimentary beer and hurricanes (if you are 21 or older!) Make your own pub crawl through Soulard, stopping to enjoy samples of signature dishes at participating establishments while sipping on some Southern Comfort cocktails. The 18th annual Wiener Dog Derby is free to everyone who loves watching these weenies race each other. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the first heat starts at 2 p.m. Races will take place in three divisions: Cocktail Wienies, Ballpark Franks, and Hot Dogs. There is a $10 fee to race your weenie. The signature event of St. Louis’ Mardi Gras! The 1.5 mile parade route hosts hundreds of thousands of revelers all screaming for beads and other throws as the colorful floats make their way along the route. The second parade of Mardi Gras begins at 6:30 p.m. at Washington & Broadway.  Before the parade, Washington Ave will be full of live entertainment, street performances and great food and drink specials from various venues. For more information, visit: http://bit.ly/1k1qVEA

There’s never an excuse to drink and drive, so why not start planning your transportation strategy now?  County/Yellow Cab is the official taxi of Mardi Gras, and will have a stand at 10th and Marrion across the footbridge from Soulard Market. MetroLink is also a convenient way to get to Soulard. MetroBus Mardi Gras Shuttles will operate every 15 minutes from the Civic Center MetroLink Station to Soulard from 9:00AM until 11:00PM. The cost of a round-trip shuttle ticket is $5. The shuttle ticket will allow you to ride between the Civic Center and Soulard only.

The MetroBus Shuttle Service drops festivalgoers off at 10th and Marion in the heart of the action by Soulard Market.
