COMEBACK CARDS RETURN TO STL FOR NLCS ACTION
Did you hear the booming BOIIIIINNNNNNG on Friday night? That was the sound of Major League Baseball’s bounce back boys — the St. Louis Cardinals — clinching their National League Division Series.
The Redbirds were just one strike away from ending their season when the spirited team rose to score two runs in the 9th, insuring that Red October will continue in St. Louis. The Birds posted the biggest comeback in baseball history for a division-winning postseason game.
The eleven-time World Series’ winning Cardinals, who are the defending 2011 World Champs, return to their Busch Stadium roost on October 17, 18 and 19 to chase the National League title and, hopefully, an unprecedented shot at “12 in ‘12” – their 12th World Championship in 2012.
Whether or not you’ve scored coveted NLCS tickets to games between the Cards and the San Francisco Giants, you can get in on the excitement with a visit to St. Louis – the Capital of Cardinal Nation.
Join the “Red Sea on the Mississippi” — thousands of red-clad Cardinals’ fans – during a baseball heaven dream trip to the Gateway City.
You can rally ‘round the statues of St. Louis’ Hall-of-Fame players that grace the plaza at Busch Stadium. Immortals including Dizzy Dean, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, Rogers Hornsby and the ultimate Cardinal – Stan “The Man” Musial – are poised for action. Cardinals, Browns and the Negro League Stars memorabilia are on view at the free Missouri History Museum. And, St. Louis’ baseball greats also are honored along Delmar Boulevard in The Loop neighborhood along the St. Louis Walk of Fame.
