Coming to the Stage this Summer in St. Louis
There’s an outstanding lineup of theater taking center stage this summer in St. Louis. From Shakespeare to The Muny, you won’t want to miss it when the curtain rises for your favorite show.
The Muny will celebrate its centennial this year with what is sure to be another fantastic season to mark its 100th year. The season includes amazing productions of: Jerome Robbins’ Broadway (June 11-17), The Wiz (June 19-25), Singin’ in the Rain (June 27-July 3), Jersey Boys (July 9-16), Annie (July 18-25), Gypsy (July 27-Aug. 2) and Meet Me in St. Louis (Aug. 4-12).
Also not to be missed, STAGES St. Louis presents I Do! I Do! (June 1-July 1). This musical hasn’t been performed since their inaugural season. Comedic drama, I DO! I DO!, will capture your heart while celebrating the many triumphs and heartaches of marriage through the years.
The ever-popular, Shakespeare Festival (June 1-24) is bringing back the most classic tale of Romeo and Juliet to the mainstage in Forest Park. Grab your crew and your snacks for a performance of one of the most iconic plays in the famous Bard’s canon under the stars in Forest Park.
Also gracing the stage this summer is the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. This season at the Opera will consist of: La Traviata (May 19- June 23), Regina (May 31-June 24), An American Soldier (June 3-June 22), Orfeo and Euridice (June 9-June 23). Opera Theatre strives to be fun and accessible for everyone with performances in English with subtitles.
