Plaza Frontenac

Elegant decor, plush leather seating, hardwood floors and soft twinkling lights sweep you into the holiday season at Plaza Frontenac, St. Louis’ premiere luxury shopping destination. Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue anchor a host of upscale shops such as Louis Vuitton, Coach and Tiffany & Co., as well as fine dining and entertainment. The six-screen movie theater offers delightful independent films, if you need a break from shopping. Or add dinner to the movie and make it a unique date-night destination. Fine dining options include Cardwell’s at the Plaza and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar.

The Boulevard

In the heart of St. Louis, you’ll find The Boulevard, a vibrant village teeming with upscale retail and fine dining, along with luxury residences. Stroll down Main Street and browse shops such as Loft, Crate & Barrel and Soft Surroundings. After you’ve worked up an appetite, enjoy delicious fare at restaurants such as Maggiano’s or P.F. Chang’s. And if the stores aren’t enough to put you in the spirit, the festive lights and decorations adorning Main Street provide the perfect setting for holiday caroling, as well as visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Saint Louis Galleria

Across the street from The Boulevard, you can indulge in your favorite brands with shopping, dining and entertainment at the Saint Louis Galleria. And don’t forget to add a little sparkle to your gift giving at jewelry stores such as Helzberg Diamonds and Swarovski. The Galleria 6 Cinema shows all the latest releases, and a delicious lunch or dinner at The Cheesecake Factory or Nordstrom’s Café Bistro (on the 2nd floor) will keep you going. Get into the holiday spirit with festive decorations as well as the giant, two-story Christmas tree marking Santa’s favorite spot by the fountains.

And when you get hungry from all that shopping, enjoy lunch or dinner at Buckhead Grill, Villa Italian Kitchen, or one of the many other delicious restaurants in the center.

Taubman Prestige Outlets boasts a number of upscale retailers like Polo Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Restoration Hardware, Furla and Janie and Jack. Taviani’s Fresh Italian Kitchen and Nadoz Bakery Café will nourish your body and give you the energy you need to cross off those last few items on your list. And your Christmas shopping is complete.

The holidays are magical

2015 Ameren Missouri Thanksgiving Day Parade

This year marks the 31st year of St. Louis’ annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. Festivities will kick off at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, November 26. Starting at 7th and Market streets, more than 130 parade participants will travel west on Market Street to Union Station and finish things off at 20th Street. Fantasy-filled floats, larger-than-life helium balloon characters, animals, marching bands and more will come together from all around the St. Louis region to ring in the holiday season. Wrapping things up will be a very special appearance by Santa Claus to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.

The Polar Express

All aboard for The Polar Express at St. Louis’ Union Station! The classic children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg comes to life on an enchanted journey to the North Pole. Children and parents alike will relive the magic of the story, set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack with caroling, hot chocolate and treats to enjoy along the way. Passengers will be greeted at the North Pole by Santa and his helpers, who will grant each child with the first gift of Christmas—a silver sleigh bell.
