About the Program:

Join the Museum this International Holocaust Remembrance Day for a special presentation by fourth-generation descendent, Max Libman. Libman, a current USC freshman and intern at the USC Shoah Foundation, uses storytelling to preserve Holocaust memory. Inspired by his great-grandmother’s experiences, Max created award-winning films that spark cross-generational conversations. He also founded the CU International Film Festival to empower young filmmakers and served on the Illinois Holocaust Museum Teen Leadership Board and the St. Louis Holocaust Museum. Max’s passion for storytelling began at the age of twelve when he wrote Ein Stern (A Star), inspired by his great-grandmother’s life under the Nazi regime. The award-winning screenplay was produced in German with English subtitles. He also created a documentary about his great-grandmother's life. Viewed by over 10,000 people, these films have sparked meaningful conversations across generations and audiences.
