Adult Education at the NBM – Harmonica: Big Sound in a Small Package

March 5, 12:10 pm TO 1:10 pm | National Blues Museum | Free

The harmonica is arguably the first instrument that comes to mind for many when thinking about the blues. This program combines a presentation with musical performances to tell the story of the blues and blues harmonica. Unlike many musical instruments, the ways a harmonica can be played, and the number of notes that can be played on it, has evolved over the last 100 years and innovations are still happening today. These various states of the harmonica art form will be demonstrated through performance, hopefully resulting in a new appreciation of this instrument that was once considered a toy.
