Anita Jackson Sings with Strings

Anita Jackson’s versatility is impressive. Whether jazz, R&B, pop, or Broadway – she nails it. No stranger to St. Louis area audiences, this gifted singer/actress has performed with leading St. Louis theaters (award-nominated performances), in multiple solo evenings at Jazz St. Louis, The Sheldon Concert Hall, and too many clubs and concert venues to count. Anita Jackson started her career at The American Music and Dramatic Academy in New York. She then performed on Broadway and has toured nationally and internationally in theater productions, concerts, and workshops. She performed as a background vocalist for some of the most iconic recording artists, such as Bette Midler (on Midler’s Grammy-winning 1991 Song of the Year “From a Distance”), Patti Austin, Mariah Carey, and most notably, Cissy and Whitney Houston.
