U.K. band Bastille made its debut in 2013 with the album Bad Blood, which entered the U.K. album chart at No. 1. It has since sold more than four million albums worldwide alongside 11 million singles. The global hit “Pompeii” was certified 5x Platinum in the U.S., where it topped Billboard’s Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs, Adult Alternative Songs and Dance Club Songs charts. The singles “Bad Blood” and “Flaws” were certified Gold. Bastille won a BRIT Award for British Breakthrough Act and received two GRAMMY® nominations and two American Music Awards nominations.
Rolling Stone hailed Bastille as “Brit pop’s new crown princes” upon the release of the band’s second album, Wild World, which retained the vivid, filmic songwriting of its predecessor, but pushed the band’s unique sound in new directions. In the U.K., Wild World debuted at No. 1 on the album chart and the first single, “Good Grief,” topped Apple Music’s Hot Tracks chart and the Shazam chart and subsequently achieved Platinum status after breaking 1 Million sales. Bastille wrote stand alone track ‘World Gone Mad’ to feature on Netflix Original film ‘Bright’ starring actor Will Smith and directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, End Of Watch).
Early 2018 saw ‘I Know You’ the collaboration track between Bastille and acclaimed U.K. RnB artist Craig David go top 5 in the U.K. singles chart, followed by the release of the band’s latest single “Quarter Past Midnight”, which was the 3rd #1 Alternative single at US radio for the band. 2018 see’s Bastille prepare for their third full length album with festival plays across the U.K. and Europe throughout the summer. Founded by Dan Smith (vocalist/songwriter), Bastille’s line-up is completed by Chris Wood (drums), Will Farquarson (guitar) and Kyle Simmons (keyboards).
