F/A-18 Pilot Panel

When was the last time you landed an F/A-18 on an aircraft carrier? It's probably been a while! Join us on Saturday, October 11th at 7:00pm to hear from those who have!

Pilot panel featuring:

  • Dave "Dez" Desmond - Dave Desmond was a member of the first operational USMC squadron to operate the F/A-18 Hornet. As a test pilot with McDonnell Douglas, Mr. Desmond flew the F/A-18, AV-8B Harrier and was the Lead Pilot for F/A-18 E3, testing inflight loads.
  • Elliott "Hemo" Clemence - Elliot Clemence was an operational F/A-18 pilot and Super Hornet test pilot at NAS Patuxent River. As a test pilot with Lockheed Martin, Mr. Clemence flew the F-35A flight sciences tests and F-35 carrier suitability. He has test flown the Super Hornet and E/A-18G Growler for Boeing and is currently the Chief Pilot for St. Louis Flight Operations.
  • Jason "Finch" Pattison - Jason Pattison is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and was an operational Super Hornet pilot and test pilot. Mr. Pattison was also the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot for VX-9 operating from Nellis AFB. He is currently a test pilot supporting Boeing proprietary programs.
  • Tim Bischof - Tim has worked at Boeing/McDonnell Douglas for 40 years and is currently the Test Program Manager for Phantom Works fixed wing programs. From 1994-1999 Tim was the flight test engineer and test conductor on the first Super Hornet, F/A-18 E1. Tim is now a member of the Board of Directors for the National Museum of Transportation.
