May 3 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

The Old Courthouse in St. Louis will reopen on May 3, 2025, following a two-year, $27.5 million renovation as part of the $380 million CityArchRiver Project.

This historic landmark, known for its pivotal role in American history, including the Dred Scott case, will now offer enhanced accessibility and new exhibits focusing on Dred and Harriet Scott, African American life in St. Louis, and civil rights. The reopening will be celebrated with a free community festival featuring remarks from dignitaries and interactive educational programming. The renovations include the installation of the building's first elevator and accessible ramps, as well as structural improvements like a state-of-the-art fire suppression system.

The Old Courthouse is a vital educational and cultural resource, preserving its architectural beauty while enhancing visitor experiences for future generations.
