History Talk: Political Cartoons about Grant

Those who believe today’s political cartoonists have gone too far should revisit the bare-knuckle depictions of the late 19th century! Post-Dispatch cartoonist Dan Martin will mostly focus on two of the era’s most celebrated names of the time, Thomas Nast (pro-Grant) and Joseph Keppler (anti-Grant). He will also discuss surprising St. Louis connections of some of their biggest targets.
