Imperfect Pixels is a solo exhibit by Travis Sheridan, a local artist who has spent his career as a community designer and is focused on creating environments that stimulate thinking, engagement and capacity building. This is an immersive, interactive exhibit for patrons, as Travis asks us to “slow down and remember those the Black community has lost.” The work consists of nine images that only become clear to the viewer when they stop and interact with them and allows the person to pause and have a personal moment with each piece. The exhibit is a series of nine portraits that are pixelated and inverted. Glass orbs will be provided for the patrons to view. This provides the viewer with an intimate moment to view the art only seen with the orb. As the hotel’s quarterly exhibit, Imperfect Pixels will be on display from November 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021. 25 percent of all sales from the exhibit will be donated to the All Black Creatives Foundation and an additional 25 percent will be donated to one of three organizations of the patron’s choice.
