No matter your age, interests or budget, you’ll find something fun to do in St. Louis this weekend.
In the Kemper Unplugged program on Sept. 20, faculty and students from the department of music, arts and scinces at Washington University in St. Louis will perform intimate chamber music and acoustic solos surrounded by art.
Curated by guitarist Vince Varvel, the program will feature works inspired by Grace Hartigan’s New York Rhapsody (1960), which draws on the free-flowing and improvisatory musical form of rhapsody. Varvel will present ambient, improvised pieces for processed electric guitar influenced by the shapes, movements and colors in the painting.
Additional Kemper Unplugged program dates include Oct. 18 and Nov. 15. Every 45-minute concert is free and open to the public.
