No matter your age, interests or budget, you’ll find something fun to do in St. Louis this weekend.
St. Louis Classical Guitar presents a concert with Mak Grgic, classical guitarist, and Curtis Stewart, violinist, performing solo pieces and as a duo inspired by their Balkan and Greek heritage on Saturday, May 3rd at 7:30pm at the 560 Music Center's Pillsbury Theatre.
SLCG welcomes back Mak Grgic, “a guitarist to keep an eye on” by the Washington Post, who will be joined by violinist Curtis Stewart, praised for “combining omnivory and brilliance” by The New York Times. Expect a program of three sets - Solo Violin, solo guitar, and duo, in which the two musicians explore their cultural shared heritage (Balkan/Greek/Mediterranean). You won’t want to miss these award-winning performers coming together for one spectacular evening!
From the ethnic music of his native Balkans to extreme avant-garde and microtonal music, Mak Grgic’s roles as soloist, collaborator, and Grammy-nominated recording artist are fueled by curiosity, imagination, and boundless energy.
6-time GRAMMY Award-nominated violinist and composer Curtis Stewart translates stories of American self determination to the concert stage, whilst tearing down the facade of “classical violinist.”
