Mississippi Meanderings

January 26, 2:00 pm TO 7:00 pm | National Great Rivers Museum

At the Mississippi River Water Trail Association’s January event you and your friends can meet other paddlers and learn from some great river experts.

This year our speakers are: Water Ways Council Midwest Region Vice President Paul C. Rhode, Center for American Archaeology Executive Director Dr. Jason King, and perennial favorite speaker Bryan Hopkins.

Adventure Speaker:
Bryan Hopkins will deliver his talk “Where the Rivers are Still King: Paddling the Confluence of the White, Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers.”

Safety Speaker:
Paul C. Rhode will present information on how to safely coexist with barges. Learn what the tow captains wish you knew about paddling on the rivers that they travel.

Community, History and Perspective Speaker:
Last year was the first for a speaker on history and the topic was so popular that the trend continues this year. Dr. Jason King will present his new research on old civilizations along the Illinois River.
