Did you know the first historic house museum to open in the city sits just one block south of Busch Stadium? The Field House Museum has been here much longer than the current baseball stadium though. The historic Field family home has been at this location since its construction in 1845. Over its long history the home was saved from demolition, underwent several restorations, and was recognized for its national and local historical significance. The newest exhibition to open at the Museum highlights these major milestones in an exhibit aptly named, Momentous Milestones. Visitors will also be introduced to some of the people and organizations who have contributed to these milestones throughout the years such as Landmarks Association of St Louis, Inc. and The Daniel & Henry Co. who are both sponsors of the exhibit. With over 175 years of history on display, it is amazing to see the home’s journey from one of twelve rowhouses to a National Landmark historic house and Museum, the first of its kind in St. Louis.
