Oktoberfest St. Louis 2018
The theme for this year’s celebration is Biergarten to Big Top! We partnered with the Kranzberg Arts Foundation to bring a full lineup of rock, blues, polka, and oompah-thumping music to the fest as well as performances throughout the weekend by members of Circus Flora!
O-Katz Oktoberfest Lager, Zwickel Bavarian Lager, and Schnickelfritz Bavarian Weissbier will be available in 16-ounce and liter pours. UCBC Brewmaster Florian Kuplent also brewed a limited edition Dunkel which will only be available during the fest. The recipe dates back to 1967 and is from Brauerei Erharting, the German brewery where Florian completed his first apprenticeship.
Traditional Oktoberfest food offerings like pretzels, brats, porchetta sandwiches, and Lebkuchen (heart-shaped gingerbread cookies) will be available for purchase. Some of St. Louis’ favorite food trucks will be on-site during the festival as well.
New to this year’s Oktoberfest will be a festival market, open throughout the weekend, featuring local artists and vendors selling handmade artisan goods. Masskrugstemmen, the popular stein-holding competition, will take place Saturday.
Sunday will feature family-friendly activities, including performances by Circus Flora as well as a children’s tent with cookie decorating, music, coloring, and more. Purina will also bring dog-friendly fun and festivities for both two and four-legged family members throughout the day on Sunday.
Entry is FREE at Oktoberfest St. Louis. Festival-goers may buy an authentic 1-liter glass stein for $12 at the festival and get 1-liter fills for $12. 16-ounce pours will be available for $7. The festival is cash-only to alleviate lines. ATMs will be on-site at the fest.
