Pat Travers’ energetic live shows and superior guitar work have earned him legions of loyal fans since he burst onto the rock scene in the late ‘70s.
Pat Travers picked up his first guitar at age 14, inspired by his heroes Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. He began playing in bands around his native Toronto while in his early teens, and by his early 20s he was touring England. His performance at the huge Reading Festival in 1976 earned him a spot among the best young guitarists of the era.
Over the past 40+ years since his debut, Travers has released more than three dozen studio albums, live albums and compilations. His current touring band consists of veteran drummer Tommy Craig and bassist David Pastorius, nephew of the legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius. This tight hard-rocking rhythm section provides the perfect foundation for the guitar fireworks that have made Travers an icon to many fellow musicians. Metallica’s Kirk Hammett has called Travers one of his favorite guitarists, and Mr. Big co-founder Paul Gilbert has referred to him as a “guitar god.”
