Shakespeare in the Streets Presents Winds of Change
Running from Sept. 22 to 24, Winds of Change is the ninth and latest work from St. Louis Shakespeare Festival’s Shakespeare in the Streets.
The world premiere play is based on Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, and it’s the culmination of a year of story collection and community conversations in the historic Bevo Mill neighborhood of St. Louis. In partnership with Oasis International, St. Louis Shakespeare Festival worked with residents, community organizations, businesses and refugees who have found a home in the area to create the large-scale Shakespeare adaptation.
The free performance begins at 8 p.m. every night, and the stage will be set up on Morgan Ford Road in front of Long Middle School. Audience members are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for seating, and outside food and drinks are welcome – although, snacks and beverages can also be purchased at Bevo Mill restaurants and bars.
