Sky Wars 2024 – 19th Annual Fireworks Championship

Sky Wars, the nation’s largest fireworks competition, returns to Missouri on September 28th with 2+ hours of world-class fireworks displays, fireballs, a drone show, and massive pyrotechnic shells.

Sky Wars​​ will hold its 19th annual U.S. Invitational Fireworks Championship on Saturday, September 28th, 2024 in Innsbrook, Missouri. Gates open at 2 p.m., and the fireworks show begins at 7:30 p.m. The event is in partnership with the developers of Innsbrook and will be held at 1001 State Highway F, Innsbrook, MO 63390.

Presented by the nonprofit Missouri Pyrotechnics Association, Sky Wars is the largest and one of the only pyrotechnic competitions in the nation. This fiery outdoor event is nicknamed “A Light and Sound Explosion” and is hailed as a must-see experience for all ages.

The three-hour long event will feature fireworks shows by invitation-only pyrotechnicians who are among the nation’s top fireworks display choreographers. Up to 10 highly skilled teams will create award-winning pyromusicals—or “concerts in the sky”—which combine the artistry of music and pyrotechnics. Audience members will also witness several large-scale firework shells, the likes of which are rarely seen launched at other public events.

The display lineup features more than just fireworks: the Fireball Dudes, who now hold an unofficial world record for their signature gasoline fireballs, present massive fireballs every year at the event. Sky Elements will also return on Sept. 28th with more drones than last year to present a large-scale drone show.

There will be a daytime festival area from 2 to 7 p.m., which includes a Children’s Area where families are welcome. A wide variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase. A live band will perform from 3 to 7 p.m. for musical entertainment.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Wags & Whiskers animal shelter and its efforts to build a no-kill animal shelter in Warren County.

Tickets range from $35 to $55 per person for general admission and $135 to $175 for an all-inclusive VIP ticket. Children under five are free. Group discount pricing is available for groups of 25 or more.
