Speaker Series: The History of St. Louis Toys

The Field House Museum is excited to welcome Andy Tolch on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM! A longtime toy collector and expert, Tolch will share his knowledge of toys and their impact on childhood fun.

St. Louis was once home to major toy companies like Gundlach, Marks, Tootsietoy, and Wolverine, and the city’s toy-making tradition is part of what makes the museum’s collection so special. From Eugene Field’s own love of toys to the current exhibit, Growing Together: Fisher-Price Toys Across Generations, the joy of play has always had a home here.
