St. Louis Blues: A Century of Legends and Legacy ft. Rashad the Blues Kid

July 25 @ 7:30 pm
City Winery | $25 – $40

National Blues Museum in Association with City Winery Presents "St. Louis Blues: A Century of Legends and Legacy." In 2025, we celebrate the centennial of "The St. Louis Blues" by W.C. Handy, as recorded by Bessie Smith and Louis Armstrong in 1925—a song that revolutionized American music, bridging the gap between blues and jazz and becoming a cornerstone of both genres.

A celebration of the enduring legacy of blues music—a genre that has shaped jazz, rock, soul, and countless other forms of modern music. We also honor the 100th birthday of the legendary BB King, whose unparalleled contribution to the blues and global music landscape has left a lasting impact on generations of artists.

This series marks a century of blues—a genre born from the heart of the Mississippi Delta that rose to influence not only jazz but the entire trajectory of popular music. From the roots of "The St. Louis Blues" to the modern-day blues revival, we pay tribute to the rich, transformative power of this iconic genre.

Through performances that honor the giants of the past and highlight rising stars, we continue the blues tradition and celebrate its profound cultural influence.

Rashad the Blues Kid, a young artist from the Delta, brings the energy, spirit, and passion of blues music to the stage, carrying forward the essence of this timeless genre.
